How can I get involved?

How much will it cost our organisation to enter?

There is no cost to enter the Champion Canterbury Awards

Should you make it through to becoming a finalist, you are provided with a significant amount of public profile and given the opportunity to advertise alongside this profile
You will be required to purchase tickets to the Awards Ceremony.
What happens after I nominate someone or my organisation?

If you nominate someone, we will make contact with them informing them they have been nominated and send the entry form. Please note we do not disclose who nominated them, this is kept confidential. If you inform the, please encourage them to enter

If you nominate your own organisation, you will be sent an entry form by our Champion Canterbury team to complete which his due in by the 30th June 2008.
How long will it take to complete the entry form?
One of the attributes of these Awards is the simplicity of entering. There are 4 key questions that will need you to provide some details of your organisation on. Entrants last year believed it took them around 3-4 hours. We do not require any financial information or supporting material.

Who are the judges?
40 business and community leaders. All judging is done independently and taken from the information submitted in the official entry form.
What do I win?
You will receive the 2008 Champion Canterbury category winners trophy and certificate and a huge amount of public profile and recognition from being announced as a finalist through to the winners announcement.
The finalists and winners of the AMI Insurance Charity category do also receive a donation.
Can I enter if I don’t have business plans, marketing plans, OSH plans in place?
Yes you can. The judges will base their decisions on you achievements from the 2007 calendar year and your points of difference, key characteristics and people management.
How do I get involved in the ACC Workplace Safety Award?
This category recognises businesses committed to workplace safety systems and procedures.
There is a separate entry form for this category which can be entered in its own right or in addition to one of the other categories. Contact the Champion Canterbury team via email.
How do I choose which category I should enter?
You will generally find that your organisation could fit into more than one category. You are only entitled to enter one category and the ACC Workplace Safety Award. Choose the category that best fits the capability/achievements you wish to profile.
What are the benefits of being involved in the awards?
Aside from the strong public profile and recognition. Previous entrants have commented on the entry process providing:

What exposure will I receive?

Should you make it through as a finalist, there are a number of advertisements in The Press outlining the finalists and winners names, editorial coverage in The Press, inclusion in a 12 page supplement distributed with every copy of The Press a week prior to the Awards and a souvenir booklet provided to all attendees (in excess of 1,000) at the Awards Ceremony

Where can I obtain photos?
Contact the Champion Canterbury team a week after the Awards Ceremony for details on how to obtain these.
If I am a finalist do I receive a free ticket?
No, you are required to purchase these, please contact the Champion Canterbury team here.
What do I wear to the awards ceremony?
This is a formal event with the dress standard being black tie for men (tuxedos or suit and tie, and evening wear for ladies.
When will I get my tickets issued?
Tickets will be issued the week prior to the Awards Ceremony.
What is the cost to attend the ceremony?
$150.00 +GST per person (individual ticket)
$1500.00 +GST for a corporate table of 10
